New CSKA Arena – the “highest” stadium in the world

CSKA played their first match at the new CSKA Arena on 10th September 2016. 26,420 spectators came to see them play Terek Groznyj (3-0). Another 3,000 people can watch the match from the skyscraper. If we add those, then the stadium was more or less filled to capacity for the first match.

2018 World Cup
In the course of the 2018 World Cup the new CSKA Arena will only provide a training venue. Matches will be played at different stadiums, either renovated or newly built. Moreover, there already are two stadiums in Moscow, which will provide venue for the World Cup matches – the renovated Luzhniki Stadium and the new Spartak Moscow stadium, built in 2014.
