Presentation of the new EURO 2016 venue in Bordeaux
Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux08.06.2016: Participants of the 2016 European Championship in France will have the chance to play at a brand new stadium in Bordeaux, which has a capacity of 42,000 and is called Nouveau Stade, “the New Stadium”. The stadium with a unique design has been the home ground of the local team, Girondins, since May 2015. It was built mainly to provide venue for EURO 2016 and the draws will show which teams will play there. The old stadium, Stade Chaban Delmas, which had a capacity of 34,000 and was built in 1924, did not meet UEFA requirements for a Euro venue.
